HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Leeward areas across the state are under a red flag warning as strong winds are producing an increased fire risk, but it’s not just Leeward sides, as it’s been gusty for other areas.
The Hawaii News Now First Alert Weather team has declared that the FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY extends through Saturday until 4 p.m.
Captured video shows a falling tree that came down on a utility line on Friday, sending sparks flying.
Winds were hitting about 20 miles per hour in that area Friday.
That explosion did not cause a fire.
